We started the beta test for the next version of the Grazr.com site today. The site has two significant changes. We have redesigned the interface to use images from Flickr to represent reading lists. These photos make both the file listings and the individual Read pages for each file a lot more attractive.

The other change, and the thing we are really excited about, is our new drag and drop editor. Drag and drop is a commonly used term for Ajax based sites. In our case not only can you rearrange items within the editor, you can also drag any information from another Grazr widget on the Web, or text and links from any Web page. For example, if you drag a link for a feed from a page and drop it onto the editor, a feed node will automatically be created. You can then create a widget with just a few mouse clicks. No knowledge of OPML is needed.

We’re looking for a few good beta testers to put this system through its paces, so if you have some time to play with this new site, email me at adam AT grazr DOT com. We want to limit the total number of testers, because the beta version is running on a single server. So we have password protected the beta site. I’ll be able to give out invitations to the first dozen or so people who contact me. After a few days we’ll be able to let more people in.
